The
state-owned Dutch railways, NS has sabotaged competing transport companies in bids for the
train and bus transport in the province of Limburg. These results were obtained from a yet-secret
report commissioned by the Authority for Consumers and Market, which supervises
the NS. The NS manages the Dutch railway stations, and
is thus obliged to make sure that in the case of bids, all bidders have an
equal chance. As a result of the
sabotage, a subsidiary of NS obtained the monopoly for public transport in the
province between 2016-2031.
