From a
confidential figures obtained by the daily De Telegraaf, the costs of
closing about 200 prostitution “windows” of
Amsterdam’s famous red light district, De Wallen, from 2007 through to 2018
will come to 108 million euros, mainly in payments to the window owners. All in all, there are 470 such windows in
Amsterdam, 126 have already been closed, and negotiations are in progress
regarding another 83.
