Labor Parliamentarian Says: Humiliate Criminal Moroccans

Hans Spekman a parliamentarian of the Labor party – which is a member of the Dutch coalition government – has proposed that criminal Moroccan youngsters should be humiliated in front of their friends. Spekman said that jail penalties enhance the status of these youngsters within their social group. One should instead aim for other punishments such as having sentenced youngsters do work in their own neighborhood, while wearing prison clothing. He added that by targeting only criminal Moroccans one avoids stigmatizing their entire ethnic group.
