Half of Police Corps Nearly Bankrupt

The police union ANPV claims that at least half of the police corps in the Netherlands are so short of money that they will de facto go bankrupt next year. This means that for any spending they must receive approval directly from the Ministry of Interior. The police corps in the province in Drente is already under the custody of the ministry. At present the maintenance of police stations is poor, policemen sit on worn out chairs to print their reports, and the temperature has been lowered in the offices.
