Shareholders Organization: Central Bank President should Apologize

Jan Maarten Slagter, chairman of the Association of Shareholders (VEB), has said on television that of all Dutch bankers, Nout Wellink, the president of the Dutch Central Bank, has the most reasons to apologize to the public for the financial crisis. He added that Wellink had underestimated the problems in the financial sector and their impact on the economy at large.
