In an interview with the German
weekly Die Zeit, German President Joachim Gauck criticizes the
Netherlands. He said that in major towns in the Netherlands, parties are
successful which promote xenophobia. He mentioned Amsterdam and Rotterdam
specifically. He also said that he was proud of Germany, that according to him,
has no populist parties in the parliament.
