Discordance in Amsterdam Municipal Council about Profiling of Moroccans

The Green Left Party in the Amsterdam Municipal Council opposes the selective registration of Moroccan scooter drivers by the police. Faction chair Judith Sargentini says that the registration is selective because it is based on ethnic origin and arbitrary because all Moroccans are targeted. The police say that robberies on scooters are almost always carried out by Moroccan youngsters. The Labor municipal councilor Frank de Wolf says that he assumes that the police have their reasons and is not discriminating.
