A report by PriceWaterhouse Coopers and two independent psychiatric experts is extremely critical of the social psychiatric service center in Amsterdam East. After the death of a 47-year old patient in September in an isolation ward, that ward was closed. The report says that psychiatrists and nurses did not work in cooperation, there was poor documentation of the administration of medication and conditions in the isolation cell were bad. The atmosphere among employees was one of "fear, insecurity, lack of motivation and sometimes cynicism."
