Community Service Punishments often not Served

A report by the Amsterdam Attorney-General’s office showed that community service punishments are often not carried out. Many perpetrators do not finish the service; others do not even start. The alternative punishment, i.e. jail, is also not served. Those in charge of controlling these punishments often do not inform the Attorney-General’s office.
