Rotterdam Mayor Wants Tough Action against Racist Slogans

Last weekend the Rotterdam police took no action against an anti-Israeli demonstration in which tens of youngsters were shouting “Hamas, Hamas – Jews to the Gas.” Ahmed Aboutaleb (Labour), the new mayor of Rotterdam said that, in the future, he wants the police to act harshly against such insulting or racist slogans. One person was wounded by the demonstrators after he shouted “Israel, Israel.” The Freedom Party has asked two ministers to clarify which anti-Semitic slogans were called out in Arabic.
