Hospitals do not Meet Norms for Breast Cancer Surgery


Half of Dutch hospitals do not meet the norm of 90% success in breast cancer operations. Hundreds of women who have undergone surgery must return to the hospital because not all the affected tissue has been removed. In a number of hospitals four out of ten women required additional surgery. The hospitals, however, did not publish this information.
