Despite Investments, Railways Less Safe

Last year, 13% more trains jumped red lights. In 2012, 175 trains jumped red lights compared to 155 in 2011. That, despite the tens of millions of Euros which have been invested into the improved safety system, ATB-vv. This system makes it possible to stop a train at a speed of under 40 kilometers if it passes through a red light. These figures come from the Inspectorate of Environment and Transport (ITL).
