Ton Heerts,
the head of the major trade union FNV, says that the government is raising the
salaries of bureaucrats, and at the same time it is lowering its contributions
to pensions. Heerts said that in this
way, the pensions of about three million people are being put in danger. He does not exclude the possibility of a major
public protest.
