Ministries are slow in responding to letters and e-mails from citizens. This is the conclusion in a report by national ombudsman Alex Brenninkmeijer. Letters of protest in particular are not answered in a reasonable time. The desired standard time for responding to such letters is six to ten weeks. Sometimes the ministries take more than a year to answer.
