Research by
the National Monitor of Crime has shown that one out of ten youngsters interviewed
knows somebody who has participated in the creation of a violent movie last
year, either as the perpetrator, victim, bystander, or producer, and 21% say
that they know of at least one of such violent films which is in circulation in
their environment. Some movies were
viewed more than a 100,000 times, and 40% of the youngsters think that somebody
who films such a movie should be punished like those who fight in it.
