Bas Driesen, the faction leader of the Trots op Nederland party (Being Proud of the Netherlands) in the town of Gouda has proposed that juvenile delinquents in the town be jailed at night on board a “scum boat.” Driesen explained that this way, they can go to school during the day and are away from the main town at night. In Gouda, one of the three criminals older than 12 years is of Moroccan origin – the highest percentage in the Netherlands.
