45,000 Cases of Tax Fraud Discovered in Two Years

In the past two years, the taxation office has discovered 45,000 cases of tax fraud for a total amount of 135 million Euro. 90 million of these were discovered in time. It was also revealed that criminals have found ways to defraud the tax authorities by using the services of asylum seekers who can get taxations back by using falsified data. Christian Democrat Parliamentarian Pieter Omtzigt says that the government already promised a year and a half ago to deal with this matter and apparently very little has been done since. Deputy Minister Frans Weekers has informed the Parliament that he wants to give priority to this.
