Rotterdam Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb has said that he has been
threatened with death. This happened
after a debate in the municipal council which initially had been requested by
the Muslim party Denk. It concerned the
fact that Aboutaleb had permitted a demonstration in front of a mosque by a
right wing group. The Turkish Minister
of European Affairs, Ömer Çelik
had heavily criticized Aboutaleb in this matter. Aboutaleb retorted that he should mind his
own business.
