Minister of the Interior Ronald Plasterk has instructed the Dutch intelligence
service, the AIVD, to investigate the allegations that the German and American
intelligence services have had access to internet cables, which cross Dutch
territory. Plasterk said that it is unacceptable that foreign intelligence
services operate within the Netherlands.
As soon as he has more information, Plasterk promised to inform
parliament.
