The Ministry of Economic Affairs has
announced that food is increasingly thrown by consumers into garbage pails. Out
of the general population, in 2011, 6-60 kilos more food was wasted than in
2009 per person. The consumer is of all parts of the food process by far the largest
source of waste. Parliamentarian Carla Dik-Faber said that it cannot be that so
much food is thrown away, while in other parts of the world, people go hungry.
