Due to the fireworks at the end of the year 21 adults and two children lost eyes. Eight of these eyes had to be entirely removed. This was published by the Dutch organization of eye doctors (NOG). Round the year-end 264 people were treated for damage to their eyes. Among these were 155 people who lighted fireworks themselves. All in all 324 eyes were damaged, of which 101 permanently. 23 People Lost eyes due to Year-End Firework
