A report published by the Council for Safety has concluded that the Apache military helicopter pilots who, on 12 December 2007, caused damage to high tension cables had poorly prepared for the flight. The briefing of the pilots before the flight lasted only three minutes. It was also shown that there had been poor supervision of the preparation for the flight. The council is headed by the Dutch queen’s brother-in-law Pieter van Vollenhoven.
