It recently became known that the Military Intelligence and Security Service (MIVD) has lost some top secrets of the Netherlands and its allies in Afghanistan. A computer disc with secret data disappeared in August 2006 and was found four months later in a puddle of mud in Camp Holland in Tarin Kowt in Afghanistan. The disc had been lost by a lieutenant colonel and contained operational information of the MIVD and secret reports from American, Canadian, British and Australian services. Earlier in 2006 another MIVD collaborator in the Netherlands had lost a USB stick with information from the American National Security Agency.
