A group of Turkish experts and professionals has published a manifest on the position of Turkish Dutch youngsters stating that it is cause for much concern. Their connection with Dutch society is rapidly declining, thus the danger exists that these youngsters will enter into societal isolation. The group says that more and more Turkish Dutch youngsters say that they will never become part of Dutch society. They consider that they are less appreciated in school and in the labor market. About one out of four Turkish Dutch youngsters of the second generation are unemployed.
