Less than Quarter of Terrorists in Netherlands Condemned

Public prosecution data show that less than a quarter of the terrorists who have been arrested since 11 September 2001 were actually condemned. An analysis carried out by the NRC-Handelsblad daily shows that since 2001 at least 156 persons were arrested on suspicion of Islamic terrorism, but close to two-thirds of them were released without being prosecuted. Only 20 were tried and condemned without the possibility of appeal.
