Ede: Misbehaving Youngsters Not Allowed on Streets at Night

Cees van der Knaap, Mayor of Ede (Christian Democrat) has decided, after consulting with the justice department and the police, that youngsters in the neighborhood of Veldhuizen who cause problems will be notified that they are not allowed to be on its streets between 10 at night and 7 in the morning. This measure aims at a group of 90 youngsters, mainly Moroccans. (It is quite common in the Netherlands to mention ethnic affiliation of criminals and hooligans.) Earlier measures forbidding groups of more than four to meet on the streets have not been effective.
