Chamber of Commerce: Red Light District Should Retain Erotic Character

The Amsterdam Chamber of Commerce has published a report, which recommends that the erotic character of the Red Light district should be maintained, as it is one the main attractions of the city. Twenty six percent of tourists visit the area. The Chamber of Commerce recommends the opening of an internationally renowned erotic nightclub to increase the district’s attractiveness further. The Amsterdam municipality has recently bought out a number of “windows” in which prostitutes sit. It is however also of the opinion that the erotic character of the neighborhood should be maintained.
