Five hundred principals and teachers of elementary schools have demonstrated in Amsterdam against pressures in their work. They claim that many supportive functions, in particular subsidized ones, have been discontinued. The Algemene Vereniging Schoolleiders (AVS), the union of school principals, supports the action saying that this is a national problem.
