A majority in Parliament thinks that the National Intelligence and Security Department (de Algemene Inlichtingen- en Veiligheidsdienst - AIVD) should investigate the risks of foreign funding of Dutch mosques. Parliament is concerned about the foreign influences on Islamic prayer houses. According to them the saying ‘he who pays, determines’ has to be considered seriously. As an example they refer to the Essalam mosque in Rotterdam, where it is alleged that some of the committee members are connected with the Fundamentalist Muslim Brotherhood.www.nrc.nl/binnenland/article83
