The Reumafonds (Fund for Arthritis Patients) wants to bring about legislation which will force employers to hire more chronically ill and handicapped people. At present an estimated one out of ten Dutchmen is chronically ill or handicapped. This number will increase substantially due to the population getting older and the unhealthy way of living. According to research a quarter of the chronically ill presently have difficulty finding a job.
