One third of the street
stalls which sold food on the occasion of King’s Day last week, did so in a
non-hygienic way. This was stated by the Dutch Food and Commodities Authority
(NVWA). A major problem was keeping food at correct temperatures. Three hundred
and fifty stalls were checked. Twenty stall owners were fined. Problems were
found in both individual stalls and professional coffee shops and restaurants.
