A demonstration in Amsterdam against
budget cuts for caretakers has drawn 5,000 protesters. This was announced by
the organizing trade union ABVKABO FNV. According to the trade union, 170
people will lose their home care and 50,000 home caretakers will lose their
jobs. Furthermore, tens of thousands of employees caring for the handicapped
and in nursing homes will lose their jobs.
