Dutch Soldiers Fake Drug Problems to Avoid Serving in Afghanistan


Several Dutch military who do not want to serve with the Dutch forces in Afghanistan fake drug problems. That usually results in their dishonorable discharge. They prefer this over refusal as refusal is punishable and may even lead to jail sentences. Since 2007 there is a clear increase in the number of discharges due to drug use. This data results from Defense Ministry figures.
