Ministry of Justice tries to hide disastrous Results of Cost Cutting

The Dutch Forensic Institute (NFI) and the Ministry of Security and Justice have tried on various occasions to hide the disastrous consequences of their cost cutting. This was said by Marnix Holtink, chairman of the workers council of the NFI. The NFI director tried to cancel a meeting between the workers council and parliament. Holtink added that he was also threatened by a high bureaucrat that disclosures would have a negative influence on his career. As a result Holtink applied self-censorship. He added that due to the cost cutting there are great delays in the investigation of murders and rape cases.
