The Dutch police permanently watches 345 radical Muslims. Of
them 130 live in or around The Hague. Earlier
the general intelligence service AIVD had published that there are several hundreds
of jihadists in The Netherlands and several thousands of Jihad-sympathizers. The
AIVD estimates that 220 adult jihadists have left The Netherlands of which 40
have returned. One Dutch jihadi Sultan Berzel from Maastricht is considered the
leading Dutch mass murderer. He killed at least twenty people when he committed
suicide with a bomb near a police station in Iraq.
