An investigation by the BOR, an office of officials working for the parliament, has concluded that it is impossible to judge what Dutch aid for developing
countries has achieved. 4.1 billion Euro
are being spent each year to help the poorest in the world. The government general accounting office had
reached the same conclusion earlier. The
responsible Minister, Ploumen, says that the Dutch development aid package has
improved the food situation for about 8 million people. Labor parliamentarian Roelof says that his
party is proud of the results, as 800 million condoms have been distributed,
which have prevented many undesired pregnancies.
