Deputy Prime Minister Lodewijk Asscher was taken aback when
he saw Constant Kusters, leader of the far right Dutch People’s Union (NVU) in
the guests’ line-up for the popular talk show Pauw. “I was shocked to see a neo-Nazi representing
concerned citizens on television” he stated in parliament. Kusters said in the broadcast that he sends
sympathisers of the NVU to meetings in various places to influence the
discussion on whether to accept asylum-seekers.
(comment: Asscher did not mention that the same talk show had also
invited a Turkish-Dutch inciter recently, who had suggested the possibility of beating
up Israeli tourists visiting the Netherlands – see Bad News, October 17th)
