Parliament: Government Plans for Rapid Train System Must be Reviewed

A majority of the Labor and Christian Democrats parties, as well as the opposition Liberals, think that the Minister of Transport should review his plans for a rapid train system. A report by the Parliament’s research office shows that the measures proposed are not “cost-effective,” poorly documented and for some of them, it is unclear what the consequences will be for maintenance. Furthermore, no research has been done about the safety aspects of traveling at 160 km per hour.
