Out of fear for their lives, two members of the special ME (Mobile Unit) of the police have refused to testify in court against people who illegally occupied an empty building in Amsterdam, without a disguise. In October 2007 the ME unit had to fight the squatters for two days in the center of town in order to expel them from a building. Regular life in this area was almost non-existent for two days.
