The daily AD has interviewed the mayors of the 40 largest
Dutch towns and the heads of the 10 regional police forces. The conclusion is
that the police has too few officers to do their work properly. Police officers
are withdrawn from neighborhoods, police offices are closed, and there is less
police in entertainment areas and at soccer games. Rotterdam mayor Ahmed
Aboutaleb says that the situation is not tenable.
