Three quarters of the more
than 400 Dutch municipalities break the “Cookie Law”on their websites. This new
law from June 2012 states that websites cannot place, without good reason,
“cookies” which enable the site owner to follow the behavior of site-users. These
findings result from a study by the research office Novay. Transgressors of the law can be
punished with sizable fines.
