Dutch Army May Fight Without Tanks

The Dutch Army has to reduce its expenses by one billion Euro. One possibility presently investigated by Minister of Defense Hans Hillen (Liberals) is to abolish all tanks. Tanks are rarely used by Dutch missions abroad. In total, 10,000 out of 70,000 employees of the Ministry of Defense will lose their jobs. At present the Dutch army has two bataljons with in tota eighty tanks.
