It has been found that the construction in two office towers
in which the ministry of home affairs and of justice and security are housed contain
partially unreliable floors. According
to the NRC daily, 14 rooms and 110 workplaces in the towers were closed during
recent weeks. Civil servants are no
longer permitted to meet in large groups in certain places in the building. Nevertheless, the Ministry of Home Affairs
told the newspaper that the building is absolutely safe. Other government buildings in The Hague and
hundreds of other buildings in the Netherlands may also be unsafe. The problem was identified when a parking
structure at Eindhoven Airport collapsed a year ago.
