Over the next four years, staff shortages in healthcare will
increase to around 100 thousand people, according to the benefits agency UWV. Qualified staff is becoming very difficult to find. The
population is aging and almost a quarter of caregivers are 55-years-old or
older. The UWV recommends increased recognition of health care workers
and retraining unemployed people and migrants for health care tasks.
