An investigation commission has disclosed many highly
problematic activities of the previous chairman of the Works Council of the
national police, Frank Giltay. While the
police force was cutting costs, Giltay decided that meetings of the Works
Council should be held in expensive locations.
He hid the major use of alcohol at the expense of the police. The head
of the national police at the time must have known of the problems concerning
Giltay, but despite this, proposed to increase his salary. The current head of police has dismissed
Giltay.
