Report Municipality: Amsterdam Has Almost Lost Battle against Organized Crime
A confidential report ordered by the Amsterdam municipality
found that the city has almost lost the battle against organized crime. The authorities have little knowledge about
the economics of the drug world. The
police have abandoned the fight against drugs and justice has neglected to deal
with the organized criminality. It is
likely to take ten to fifteen years to push organized criminality back.

CHAOS AT OFFICE OF DRIVERS LICENCES
It has become known that the Central Office
of Drivers Licences (CBR) has major organizational problems. Medical files have
been switched between individuals. There are also huge problems with
digitalization. The government parties have now demanded that the minister of
transport Cora van Nieuwenhuizen will report every month on developments at the

ALKMAAR STADIUM CLOSED DUE TO ADDITIONAL RISKS
After the roof of the soccer stadium in Alkmaar caved in
an investigation was undertaken by the Investigation Council for Safety
(OVV). An additional two broken places in the roof were found as well as
two suspected positions. The OVV says that the possibility exists that
other parts of the roof will collapse. It is not yet known how long it will
take to repair the stadium. In the meantime the stadium has been closed
entirely.

EU Regulation may lead to Plague of Rats in the Netherlands
In line with EU policy, the Dutch government has
prohibited the last effective chemical products against rats and mice. Bastiaan
Meerburg, the director of the Center for Knowledge and Advice about Animal Plagues
(KAD) says that this will lead to a huge calamity. He added: “unfortunately one will only
realize this when rats and mice run over the streets.”

Roof of stadium collapses as construction criticism ignored
Part of the roof of the stadium of the top league soccer
club AZ in Alkmaar has collapsed. An Elderman
of Alkmaar at the time disclosed that there were major criticisms about the
safety of the construction of the stadium when it was built. The report which mentioned this was ignored.
