A Dutch advisory referendum voted down the EU’s free trade
deal with the Ukraine. Only 38% of the
voters supported the agreement. This was
the first people’s referendum since a new law came into force which allowed 300,000
signatures to trigger a national non-binding vote. The Dutch government is greatly embarrassed
by the voting as it is currently the president of the EU. It may have to decide not to ratify the
association agreement.

together but to dominate society. He said
that preferably the constitution should be changed and Islam should be
forbidden. The representatives of
several other parties disagreed with Wilders’ proposals.

The police units (DSI) which have to protect
the Netherlands against Terror Attacks and heavy criminality are understaffed
and have a major conflict with the top management of the Dutch police. The police

Turkish President Tayyip Recep Erdogan
has said that the Netherlands largely fail in the fight against terrorism. He added that these
