Jewish Leader: Jewish Community Feels Vulnerable and Isolated

Hans Vuijsje, Director and Board member of Jewish Social Work, one of the most important Jewish organizations in the Netherlands has said that the Jewish community feels that it is vulnerable, isolated and that anti-Semitism in the Netherlands is increasing. Vuijsje mentioned that in 2010, 87% of Dutch Jews thought that there is some, or serious anti-Semitism in the Netherlands. 48% said that they themselves had experienced anti-Semitism.

Municipality wants to Employ Dog Excrement Controllers

The Haarlemmermeer Municipality wants to send “dog excrement spies” into the streets. These are controllers in civilian dress who will observe the places where much dog excrement can be found. The controllers will act when dog owners do not clean up their dogs’ excrement themselves. The neighboring town of Haarlem already employs dog excrement controllers. A city Alderman will now investigate to what extent the Haarlem experience in the dog excrement field is useful for Haarlemmermeer.

Extremist Muslim Speaks on Memorial Day

Extremist Kuwaiti Sheikh Jasem al-Mutawa spoke on Memorial Day, 4 May at the Islamic University in Rotterdam. Al-Mutawa is the Chairman of the extremist Saudi station Iqraa TV. He is known for his extremist positions on women, and hatred of Jews. He has described women as, “first talking and then thinking.” He also says that adulterous women should be stoned. In a video, he claimed that monkeys have stoned a female monkey which did not behave in a modest way. Al-Mutawa is convinced that women have to be strictly subservient to their husbands. The Freedom Party (PVV) has put questions to Ministers Opstelten (Justice and Security) and Asscher (Social Affairs) asking whether they are willing to expel the Islamic preacher of violence and to see to it that this type of idiot, who calls for violence, will not be welcome in the Netherlands in the future.

Curaçao: Leading Politician Murdered

Herman Wiels, leader of Pueblo Soberano, the largest party on Curaçao –has been murdered on the island’s beach. Curaçao is a country in the Caribbean which is part of the kingdom of the Netherlands. Wiels went out without a bodyguard, even though he had been severely threatened. During the 2012 elections, Wiels insulted the Netherlands, women and the Catholic Church. He was an admirer of Venezuelan Hugo Chavez.

Homosexual Asylum Seekers not Safe in Dutch Asylum Centers

Homosexual refugees are not safe in Dutch asylum centers. They are being spat upon, cursed at and attacked by other asylum seekers. The centers do too little to protect and help them. This was written in a document published by the Dutch Organization of Homosexuals (COC). It spoke with 29 homosexual and lesbian asylum seekers from countries such as Uganda, Jamaica, Turkey and Estonia. One woman said that other asylum seekers had thrown stones and a bicycle at her. There are also problems with the Dutch immigration and naturalization services (IND). Some officials ask explicit questions about sexual experiences. Others are prejudiced. One woman is quoted as saying that an IND official said to her that she was too beautiful to be a lesbian. Yet another problem is that interpreters come out of the countries which these people fled and are sometimes biased against homosexuals, which makes homosexual asylum seekers afraid to tell their full stories. The Ministry of Security and Justice has said that it will study the report.

Turkish Volunteer who Admonished Young Holocaust Promoters again Harassed

The Turkish volunteer Mehmet Sahin, who admonished three Turkish youngsters who praised the Holocaust, Hitler and the killing of Jewish babies on Dutch mainstream TV, has been harassed again. After his criticism, he received death threats and was cursed on the streets of his town Arnhem by other Turks as a “Jewish agent,” “psychologically ill,” and “collaborator.” In view of this, the Mayor of Arnhem advised him to go into hiding with his family. Afterwards, Sahin sat at home for a month. He was again harassed in Turkish inter alia by someone who said to him, “You are born out of the sperm of a Jew who raped a Turkish mother.”

Ombudsman: Dutch Authorities Suspect Citizens

Alex Brenninkmeijer, National Ombudsman said that the Dutch government and authorities greatly suspect their citizens, while the majority of people are honest. When he became an ombudsman 8 years ago, he could not get an answer on how many government bodies he had to deal with. He then found out that indeed they are innumerable. A colleague from Sweden told him that he had never in any country found such a complex authority with such complicated rules as in the Netherlands.
