At his installation as Mayor of Rotterdam a police dog was used to check the bags and equipment of all journalists who came to the ceremony.

Minister of Interior: Next Year We’ll be Tougher with Hooligans

Minister of the Interior Guusje ter Horst (Labor) says that next New Year’s Eve she will deal with hooligans much more severely than this year. She expressed her satisfaction that this New Year’s Eve was better than last year, but the number of incidents was still too high. The police say that New Year’s Eve was “quiet” – there were 800 arrests and almost 3,000 incidents.

Hundreds of Deaths in Intensive Care Departments Could be Prevented

Patients who spend more than two days in intensive care departments are at major risk of contracting infections.
