The scolding of police officers in the Hague area has more
than doubled in 2016 as compared to 2015, 359 reports versus 154. In 62% of the cases the scoldings includes
the word Jew. The second most used word was
homosexual. In Rotterdam, the number of
similar incidents was 258 in 2016. Also
there antisemitic remarks were dominant. Elsewhere in the Netherlands,
homosexuality dominates the scolding.
Klaas Otto, the head of the motorclub No Surrender, who is
jailed in Middelburg awaiting his process, has been given by mistake taped
conversations of others detained in the same jail. The judge had permitted him
to listen to his own taped telephone conversations. The police and the public
prosecution consider Otto as a leading criminal in the South of the Netherlands.

Dutch Ambassador to Hungary, Gajus Scheltema has in a magazine interview compared the rhetoric of the
Hungarian government to that of Islamic terrorists. Hungary has now
recalled its Ambassador from the Netherlands and has suspended contact at the
Ambassadorial level with the Netherlands indefinitely. Dutch Foreign Minister, Bert Koenders said
that the Netherlands does have some criticism of Hungary which does not accept
refugees and has very strict regulations for NGO’s. That, however, has nothing
to do with the matters of ISIS and Koenders distancing himself from his
Ambassador’s comments. 
The controversial imam Fawaz Jneid is
active in the Hague despite a prohibition of the Mayor. Under the name of a Muslim
bookshop this Salafist operates a mosque since a few weeks.
The largest Dutch supermarket group, Albert Heijn is
removing as a precautionary measure 14 types of eggs from its shelves in view
of the uncertainty over pesticide contamination. Among the eggs to be removed is the company’s
own brand; free range and organic eggs. The
government has said that farmers themselves will have to pick up the bill for
the product recall due to the discovery of possible pesticide contamination. 
Barracks and military bases suffer from a rat and mice infestation. The Ministry of Defense is studying structural solutions for
the dirty environment where military meals are prepared in various places.
